Athens City Council confirms AEDC board appointments
The Athens City Council on Monday, Sept. 22, confirmed appointments to the Athens Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors.
Three current members — Jeff Whitnah, Brady Autry, and Bryan Clemmons — were reappointed to two-year terms ending Sept. 30, 2027. Their previous terms were set to expire at the end of the month.
The council also filled two vacancies. Traci Wilkes was appointed to Place 3, a seat left open when Danny Tidmore’s term expired. Robert Hoover was appointed to Place 6 following the resignation of Mark “Boog” Ferrell.
The AEDC is a nonprofit corporation that operates under the oversight of the City Council. It works to grow the local economy by supporting business development, community projects, and workforce training programs.
