The Athens Economic Development Corporation hosted a professional development session for local childcare directors and leaders Monday, July 11, at the Athens Partnership Center.
The session is part of an ongoing AEDC-led initiative, launched in partnership with the City of Athens and Champions for Children, to address the local shortage of childcare workers. The program began in February 2024 to help recruit and train new educators while providing continuing support for existing staff.
Directors and center leaders continue to work together on these workforce challenges as part of the collaborative effort.
